Hello, I am Mrs Atkinson
and I have worked at Billinghay C of E School for seven years now.
I have become very fond of Billinghay
and our school community. During
my time here I have taught in both Year 4 and Year 5. I am now currently
teaching Year 4 pupils again, three days
a week with Mrs Gemmell. Outside
the classroom I am joint Numeracy subject leader with Miss Wareham
and share P.E subject leadership with
Mrs Rowitt and Miss Wareham. In
my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and my little
boy, Benjamin.
Class 4 have been learning
about the Ancient Egyptians. We have had great fun discovering how
they lived and theirdifferent
beliefs.
As you can see from the photographs we have been very busy creating
sarcophaguses, Egyptian jewellery and tomb paintings.
Class 4 also linked our Literacy work with our History topic and
wrote detailed information texts about the Egyptians lifestyles.
At the end of our topic we had a special Egyptian Day.
We dressed up as Egyptians and preformed an
assembly to the school and our family and friends.
We discovered new and fascinating facts about mummification, the
pyramids, Egyptian Houses, Egyptian Pharaohs and archaeologists.
Take a look at our
photographs from the day by clicking on the slide show.
