FRIENDS OF BILLINGHAY C.E PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Christmas 2010 Dear parents and carers welcome back after the half
term break and you know what is just around the corner now – CHRISTMAS!!! A big thank you to everyone for the amounts we raised
at the bingo, rag recycling and disco which were £212, £108
and £89. The first event is the Christmas fayre which will take place in the school hall on Friday 3rd December at 3.30pm. We would like donations for the chocolate tombola stall and any home made cakes to either sell on a stall or have as refreshments. A box will be placed at the main entrance of school for any chocolate donations next week. There are loads of stalls which include jewellery, Pandora type beads, plants, Virgin Vie, mellow moments soap and candles, Jamie Oliver, Kiddicool clothes and cards. Santa will be present, the children will be raffling the class hampers and there will also be a lucky dip, guess the weight of the cake, face painting, guess the number sweets in a jar and find Santa’s presents in the snow. There will be no’ secret santa ‘ as such this year as it is increasingly difficult to source small sensibly priced gifts. Instead, the stall holders have been carefully chosen and are aware that the children will be looking for presents for mum or dad and a free gift wrapping service will be available. A bit of gentle guidance may be necessary!! The next events are the school productions which are on 7th,8th,9th and 10th December. See school newsletter for details. FOS will be providing refreshments and a raffle at each performance. The School Christmas party organised by FOS will be
Wednesday 15th December. FOS will be providing the sandwiches, jelly and
ice cream but as in previous years we would appreciate donations of savoury
food from (Swans and Hawks )and sweet food from Treehouse, Chaffinches
and Barn Owls. On a none Christmas note if anyone has any books in good condition which would be useful for the school library any donations would be greatly received, also good quality dressing up clothes to fit ages 6-8 yrs for role play in KS1 would be appreciated. However, if the donations are not suitable we would like to pass them on to the rag recycling. Thank you to everyone for all your support at our events and have a very happy Christmas Sheila Farrow Click for Friends of School web site WHAT'S ON Back to homepage |
