Shoe Box | Library Project | Back to Top
The photo's below show the first stage of the new school library.
Shoe Box | Library Project | Back to Top Children from Wagtails and Robins to Hawks have visited the library and have chosen a book from the shelves to read. This book is intended to supplement the school reading book that they take home. We purchased a computerised system whereby when books are taken out a bar code reader reads the bar code oneach book and it is catalogued to an individual child on the computer. We therefore have an instant record of which child has received which book. None of this would have been possible without the
help and support from members of the Friends of the School and Mrs Tulley.
Children in Children can change their
library books every week on set days at the start of the school day. Children do not have to change their book every week and can keep them until they have read them. The computerised system does remind us of children who have had a particular book for a time and they cannot get more than 1 book out at any one time. Please note that a charge may be levied in respect of wilful damage, neglect or loss of any library books. A lot of money particularly from the Friends of the School, has been invested in the library including updating our stock of books which we want all the children to enjoy.
