I am Ms Cann. I have been teaching for 14 years and have worked at several schools, teaching children across both Key Stage 1 and 2. I really enjoy teaching Maths, Art and PSHE. I like to see children making links in their knowledge and relating learning to real life experiences wherever possible. I love being creative and encourage these skills in children as much as possible. I also lead our school singing assemblies, something I particularly enjoy.
In Chickadees we are lucky enough to work with our wonderful teaching assistant, Mrs Smith Feast, who gives us lots of help with our learning.
This autumn our main topics are everyday materials, exploring how to best make a boat float, and also explorers and adventurers from the past.
In the spring term we will be investigating what life was like in our local area 100 years ago, as well as using geographical skills to learn about places to visit in the UK. We will be exploring plant growth and seeing if we can apply our knowledge to grow our own salad!
Finally, in the summer term we will be learning about life under the sea and comparing British holiday locations with those in the Caribbean.
Mrs Smith Feast and I are looking forward to the exciting year of learning ahead!
