Children routinely change school at the following times:
However you may wish to change your child’s school for other reasons outside the normal admissions rounds, such as moving house, we call this a midyear admission.
If you are not moving house and wish to change your child’s school for personal reasons outside the normal transfer process you should discuss this with the Headteacher of your child’s present school. This may resolve any issues which prompted you to think about changing your child’s school.
If your child is refused a place at a school because it is full you have the right to appeal.
If your child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan there is a different process for changing your child’s school. You should contact your child’s named officer for further information.
To apply for a midyear school place you must apply through the Local Authority where the school is located. This means Lincolnshire School Admissions will only accept applications to Lincolnshire schools.
You can either apply online for a midyear school place or request a paper application.
If you apply online for a midyear place you will receive the outcome of your application by email.
If you would prefer to apply by paper, please contact the Education Team on 01522 782030 or email email@example.com . Please return complete forms to School Admissions Team, Lincolnshire County Council, County Offices, Newland, Lincoln, LN1 1YQ.
