International Women's Day, March 23 in our YR Kingfisher Class.
We went down the route of discussing jobs and how there aren't boy jobs and girls jobs. We looked at inspirational women from the past and read the story 'Dream Big Little One'. We then used Mash Cams on Purple Mash to showcase a range of careers highlighting that you can be anything you want to be if you put your mind to it. The children had lots of fun with this.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Forces Workshop with Year 5 pupils on flight. Led by the RAF.
The children made wings and tested them.

Promoting Fundamental British Values.
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is "right" and "wrong", all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
- Democracy
- Rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
